Keep Your Benefit

Lifeline Recertification

Recertify once a year to keep your free phone service active.

Lifeline recertification is a yearly check that you still qualify. USAC or Phone Government will contact you before your anniversary date; you'll have 60 days to respond by phone, text, online or mail. If you don't recertify on time, your Lifeline benefit ends. Call 1-800-633-7797 for help.

When is recertification due?

Once every 12 months, based on your enrollment anniversary. We send reminders by text and phone.

How do I recertify?

  • Reply to our recertification text or call
  • Recertify online through the National Verifier if contacted by USAC
  • Call 1-800-633-7797 and we'll walk you through it

What if I miss recertification?

Your Lifeline benefit will be removed. You can reapply if you still qualify.

Do I need documents to recertify?
